 -  INVR with VR Standard

“본 발표에서는 MPEG 표준 그룹과 비디오 그룹 내 활동을 소개하겠고, 최근 가상현실의 근간이 될 수 있는 이머시브 비디오를 위해 활발하게 연구가 진행 중인 NeRF (Neural Radiance Field) 기술 소개 및 MPEG INVR 표준화 동향에 대해서 자세하게 살펴보겠습니다. :

In this presentation, I will introduce the activities of the MPEG and the video group as well.
I will also take a detailed explanation at the NeRF (Neural Radiance Field), which is actively being researched as core technology for virtual reality, as well as its standardization trends and prospect in MPEG INVR.”

□ 강연자 

 - 방건  ETRI(한국전자통신연구원) / 책임연구원

Gun Bang (Member of IEEE) received his Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from Korea University in Seoul, South Korea, specializing in total variational optimization for improving the visual quality of 3D video synthesis. Since joining ETRI in 2000, he currently holds the position of Principal Scientist and Standard Expert Committee Member at ETRI. His work primarily focuses on standardizing immersive video compression as a co-chair of MPEG-INVR group. His research topics are mainly human visual quality assessment, point cloud and mesh representations of multiview video, and implicit neural representation. He has collaborated on more than 100 patents and papers in the fields of immersive video processing and compression.
